What role does the United States of America play in all this? The usual. America wants an Old Continent subservient to its interests, and given that times are getting increasingly complex, the United States demands that Europe dig into its pockets and order every product from its weapons catalogue. This way, the United States gains twofold: 1) Europe is better able to defend itself, even with the decisive participation of the Americans; 2) If Europe buys weapons from the Americans at a dizzying rate (as is now claimed), the American economy itself benefits.
