As in anything one wants to create, it comes with the inherent question of identity. What do you want to stand for, and what are your fundamental beliefs and principles?
The same is true for Paper Alfa.
Now, some of you were present from the beginning and are familiar with my background and quest to call out wanna-be fintwit gurus and charlatans. But there is actually a deeper meaning to it all.
Why Paper?
The spark that set off the historical invention of paper was simple but extremely significant. Humans had an urgent need: to communicate certain information to each other in written form.
It’s therefore very fitting to note that the first definition of paper provided by the Treccani children’s encyclopaedia in Italy is:
“A material that is essential for spreading ideas in everyday life. Over the centuries, paper has made an enormous contribution to progress, from enabling citizen participation in democratic life to raising levels of knowledge and education.”
Paper’s number one mission is to record and transmit knowledge to others. This is also set in the principles, where I am here to help and educate.
Why Alfa?
Alfa is just the simple pronunciation of the Greek letter Alpha.
Philosophically, the search for “Alfa” can be viewed as a microcosm of human nature's relentless pursuit of growth and the deep desire to master one's destiny.
It symbolizes the belief in the individual's ability to outthink, outmanoeuvre, and outperform the collective market.
Simultaneously, the unforgiving ups and downs mirror the dualities of success and failure, risk and reward, knowledge and luck, and the ultimate human confrontation with uncertainty — all central themes in existential and stoic philosophies.
As such, the pursuit of “Alfa” becomes more than a financial journey — it transforms into a philosophical exploration of the human experience. The journey and knowledge of one’s self.
Paper’s second unmovable mission is to build on the knowledge gained and provide hands-on tools and guidance to others in their pursuit of “Alfa”.
